Find Funding
Finding funding opportunities is a critical component of advancing research and innovation. The Office of Research Development Services (ORDS) can help you strategically identify funding sources to accomplish your research goals.
PIVOT-RP Funding Opportunity Database
PIVOT-RP is a comprehensive, subscription-based database of research funding opportunities from federal and non-federal sponsors and across a wide range of disciplines, including the arts and humanities, social sciences, and the physical and natural sciences. All UWM faculty, research staff, and students can access PIVOT-RP with their UWM single sign-on (SSO) credentials and UWM email address.
PIVOT-RP has many customizable and user-friendly features that allow you to:
- Save searches and track funding opportunities.
- Receive tailored funding recommendations and alerts daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Discover collaborators at other institutions.
- Gain insights from previously awarded grants.

Research Funding Listservs
ORDS uses PIVOT-RP to curate and distribute lists of federal and non-federal research funding opportunities to UWM researchers. The listservs are organized by the following disciplines:
- Arts, Humanities, and Architecture (AHA)
- Curated AHA Lists in PIVOT:
- AHA Federal | AHA Non-Federal | AHA Awards, Travel, and Other Support
- Natural & Biomedical Science and Engineering (NBSE)
- Curated NBSE Lists in PIVOT:
NBSE Federal | NBSE Non-Federal | NBSE Awards, Travel, and Other Support
- Curated NBSE Lists in PIVOT:
- Social Sciences, Education, and Business (SSEB)
- Curated SSEB Lists in PIVOT:
- SSEB Federal | SSEB Non-Federal | SSEB Awards, Travel, and Other Support
UWM researchers are automatically subscribed and will receive periodic emails with links to funding opportunities and other helpful resources. If you currently are not receiving these emails, contact Anne Kissack and indicate which list(s) you would like to receive.
Internal Grant Programs
ORDS manages a suite of internal grant programs to support research and creative activities and the dissemination of results. The programs provide funding for travel to present research and attend conferences, develop research and creative initiatives and public service projects, and resubmit high-scoring unfunded proposals.
