Religious Studies Student Organization
The RSSO is an academic support group for the Religious Studies Program and for the majors and minors in the program. We believe that the study of religion is important in understanding both historical and current events. To that end, we work to help create a relaxed and safe atmosphere for the academic, non-sectarian study of all religions. We do this by sponsoring learning events and bringing in noteworthy speakers.
Each spring, the RSSO hosts the Religious Studies Undergraduate Research Conference, which brings together students, both locally and globally, and faculty moderators from a number of colleges and universities to present academic research on religion that they have conducted. At the end of each academic year, the students of the RSSO produce the graduation ceremony for their graduating Religious Studies Majors and Minors. The graduation features a guest speaker, the presentation of the certificates by the Associate Dean or the Dean, pictures and lots of great food. The RSSO also has its own Resource Room in which they can meet, study and relax between classes.
UWM has more than 300 student organizations. Don't see one you like, start a new one!
Students will find organizations that focus on career development and networking; social clubs; sports and activity clubs; community service and volunteer groups; and more. Membership can lead to leadership within the organization, adding to your resume before you even graduate.
