Planning for the Future Summer Camp
Planning For the Future Summer Camp is a three-week experience that provides academic enrichment in reading, writing, science and math. Students are taught the core subjects in preparation for the upcoming school year. Curriculum is delivered through various hands-on activities, group projects, classroom instruction and presentations.

FAQ
What is the cost of the program? Is there a payment plan? Are any scholarships available?
The cost of the program is $850.00. DPI Precollege Scholarships are available for students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. The DPI Precollege Scholarship is included in the Academic Year application. Students may receive a maximum of three DPI Precollege Scholarships per year.
If a student doesn’t qualify for free/reduced lunch, payment plans are available upon request. Parents/Guardians can work with program staff to come up with a downpayment and payment dates.
What does a typical day look like?
A typical day includes a mix of structured academics: Reading/writing, research, workshops, outdoor time, group and individual projects, field trips on Fridays.
Is lunch or snack provided?
A breakfast snack is provided. Lunch is provided in the Sandburg Dining Hall that offers a variety of main courses, sides, fruit, salads, beverages and desserts. Snacks are provided occasionally at the end of the day. Lunch is provided on field trip days.
Is transportation available?
Transportation is not provided by Planning for the Future. We are able to give students bus tickets to ride the city bus with the permission of the parent.
What happens if my child misses a day?
We understand absences happen; however, we ask that you notify the program staff of any unforeseen or planned absences.
Will there be field trips?
Yes. Field trips take place on Fridays. Permission slips are a part of the registration forms. Field trip fees are covered by the program.
Sandburg Halls Overnight Stay:
Students will have the opportunity to spend one night in the residence hall. On July 23, we will check into the dorms where student will receive their room assignments and keys. They will take their belongings to their rooms. We will depart the residence hall for a scheduled field trip and dinner. Once we return to Sandburg, students will have time to mingle and play games in the common area that will be supervised by staff. Lights are out at 10:00pm. Wakeup is at 7:30am, breakfast at 8:30am, check-out at 9:30am. Students should be picked up by 9:30am.
How do I register my student?
Complete the online application and scholarship form. The scholarship form should also be signed by school personnel who can verify that the student qualifies for free or reduced meals.
