Motion

The Admissions and Records Committee moves that intercollegiate athletes be given a priority registration within their year-in-school.

Rationale

Participation on an intercollegiate team is a university activity and requires attendance at team practices. All students participating in intercollegiate sports must carry a full credit load and often courses which these students must take are filled. The request for this priority registration was made to help athletes arrange a schedule in which team practices will fit, as well as to permit them to register for required courses. Another factor to consider is the fact that this priority registration will affect a small number of students per semester.
