Policy

The University recognizes the important role of the departmental chair during the summer months (e.g., 3-month non-contractual period) in addressing the instructional and personnel needs of departments. Chairs will be compensated at a minimum of one-ninth (1/9th) of their nine-month salary for duties performed during the summer. Chairs will be expected to perform their responsibilities in carrying out departmental business and will arrange for coverage of their responsibilities during any absence.
