  • Senior, Film Studies and English majors

My name is Syd Seebach and I am a May 2025 graduating senior. I am currently an Honors student with majors in Film Studies and English, a minor in Film Production, and a Business Certificate of Media and Film Studies. I am also close to finishing my undergraduate thesis on suburbanization and adolescent feminine rage. During my time at UWM, I have studied abroad in England, worked as a Programming Intern for Milwaukee Film, worked and traveled as an Exhibition Curation Manager for artist Nathaniel Stern, and worked as a Film Archive Intern at the Golda Meir library. I have received multiple sources of funding, including Student of Undergraduate Research Fellows grant, the Chancellor's Merit Tier 2 scholarship, the Minority Academic Achievement scholarship, and the Honors Summer Study Abroad scholarship. Under the guidance of Ben Schneider and Jocelyn Szczepaniak-Gillece from the Honors and Film Studies/English departments respectively, I have been supported, challenged, and understood. Their unwavering compassion means the world to me, and I could spend the rest of my life thanking them. After graduation, I am planning to stay in the greater Milwaukee area, working full-time in a position that has yet to be decided.
