Faith L. Robinson

  • Junior, Japanese

Being accepted into the Phi Beta Kappa society is an absolute honor as well as the highlight of my academic career. I was uncertain about where my interests lay until I began studying Japanese for the language credit. From there, my experience at UWM changed dramatically. Since deciding to major in honors Japanese and pursue an Asian Studies certificate, the last three years have been a whirlwind of new and exciting opportunities.

Despite the struggles of this past year due to the global pandemic, I have committed myself diligently to my studies and learned that despite the worst of circumstances, I can overcome the worst adversities. I feel endlessly supported by the director of the Japanese program Quinn sensei. As well, both Kojima sensei and Takahashi sensei have been paramount to learning the language and culture of Japan. I would like to thank them and the instructors of the Japanese and Honors programs who helped guide me to where I am today.
