Olliver Don Plank
- Senior, Geosciences major
At UWM I have always tried to hold myself to the highest standards possible putting 100% of effort in to my work, no matter the assignment, project, or exam. I am thankful to have been granted many opportunities at UWM, one being the opportunity to do undergraduate research under Dr. Dyanna Czeck in the Geoscience Department. This research involved a two week Structural Geology study on a shear zone in Almonaster la Real, Spain. I also conducted Geochemistry analysis during my senior year to better understand the deformation history of this shear zone. I also had the opportunity to present my research findings at the Geosciences Student Research Symposium and the UWM Undergraduate Research Symposium. This research has allowed me to take what I learned as a Geoscience student and put it into a real world application. As I wrap up my senior year, I would like to thank the professors in the Geoscience Department and my fellow Geoscience students, without them I would not be able to have this much success. As I look forward to fulfilling my life long dream of joining the United States Air Force. I hope to take what I have learned from my college career to use for the rest of my life.
