  • Senior, Political Science major with a Pre-Law track

I am honored to have been invited to join Phi Beta Kappa! I am currently a senior majoring in Political Science on a Pre-Law track and minoring in Psychology. Being a first-generation Mexican-American student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has pushed me to grow in many aspects of my life. My parents' constant support and encouragement have helped me continue my education. Not only have I been able to find my community on campus, but I have been surrounded by astonishing professors who have made learning such a joy. Professors Ascher, Benesh, and Kaheny's passion for teaching has allowed me to dive deeper into complex ideas and truly understand the foundations of Political Science. Additionally, I have enjoyed being a part of the Lawton Program at UWM, which has allowed me to grow as a leader. Being an individual who can help other first-generation students has been one of the highlights of my undergrad career. My plans for the future consist of attending law school and pursuing a career as a lawyer. Afterwards, I hope to be a law school professor and help students pursue their passions. I am grateful to be recognized by Phi Beta Kappa!
