Sara Murad Dharani
- Senior, Education major
I am honored to be inducted into UW-Milwaukee's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. As a 4-12 Social Studies Education Major in the Honors College, it is always been a passion of mine to work with students who make up the future of our world. I aim to give them the skills they need to not only be a functioning member of society, but a thriving member with skills of tolerance and acceptance at the forefront of their minds. With this in mind, I also obtained a minor in Spanish to continue increasing my knowledge of various cultures in this world.
At UWM, I have gotten some incredible opportunities to learn and expand my skillset as not only a learner, but an educator. I was able to participate in the Helen Bader School of Welfare's trip to Costa Rica. The trip allowed me to immerse myself in the culture and interact with societies outside of those that I was already familiar with. I also have been working as a Peer Mentor and Peer Mentor Program Assistant, giving me the opportunity to solidify my leadership, presentation, and organizational skills.
After I graduate from UWM, I plan to teach Social Studies in a 4-12 setting. I then plan to obtain a Master's Degree in Education allowing me to grow my career into the Post-Secondary level.
