Justin Lee Gottfredsen
- Senior, English and Communication majors
I am honored to be a part of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I am a current senior at UWM graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Communication and with commencement honors. Alongside Phi Beta Kappa, I am involved with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Lambda Pi Eta, and Central States Communication Association. Likewise, I have received a handful of academic awards such as the Ruth McGaffey Scholarship. After graduating, I plan to continue working in higher education to continue to help all students get access to higher education, and more importantly help all students receive and learn about support in higher education. Also, I am planning on coming back to UWM down the line to receive my MA, but I am taking a break to reflect on what program is right for me. Outside of college, I am an multidisciplinary artist that enjoys writing poetry and fiction, creating and teaching ceramics (my photo was taken when I was teaching pottery to K-8 students!), and sometimes painting.
Once again, it is an honor to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. I am extremely grateful to join this society and play a role in sharing its values.
