I have nothing but immense gratitude for the invitation to be part of Phi Beta Kappa. While words fail me, the echoes of my experiences at UWM tell all. I present to you a window into the past, in which I was a young sixteen year old starting out my freshman year with a yellow course booklet in hand and a head full of academic wanderlust. The advisors and faculty within the Letters and Science Department were wonderful in guiding and encouraging me when I needed help, pushing me to my utmost best. In pursuit of my English Literature degree, I had the privilege to meet and collaborate with so many creative peers and knowledgeable professors, all who taught me the see within the lens of etymology and classical sentiments. The bonds I made within the Honors College were inspiring and challenged me to think critically. I also enjoyed my role as Social Media Coordinator at the UWM Women’s Resource Center and will forever cherish the bonds and projects I did there. Taking these experiences and knowledge with me, I want to go to graduate school in hopes of pursuing my passion in art and history further.
