Official Functions

UWM official functions are university-sponsored events that substantially advance or contribute to the university’s mission. Managed by the offices of External and Government Relations, official functions are typically stand-alone events unrelated to ongoing operations and programming. Some examples include: 

• Functions related to the construction or opening of new facilities and dedication ceremonies.
• Functions for community leaders, prominent visitors, legislators and officials, leaders of educational programs, Board of Visitors or officials from other public or private institutions.
• The inauguration ceremony for a new chancellor.
• Functions to honor distinguished faculty, staff and students for significant, meritorious achievements.
