Howie Magner

As UWM's public relations manager, Howie helps share the story of UWM's far-reaching impact through the media and other messaging efforts. In addition to the planning and execution of public relations initiatives, he also writes and edits for a variety of UWM’s strategic and editorial communications efforts. Previously, he served as editor of the UWM Alumni magazine and the UWM Research magazine, and he was a host for UWM’s Curious Campus podcast. He joined UWM in 2016 after a nine-year tenure at Milwaukee Magazine that culminated as its managing editor. He spent 15 years as a sports writer at newspapers in Michigan, Ohio and Oklahoma.
