Framing for the next decade

As our partnership enters the 2020s, we are building on our success in helping more Milwaukee Public Schools students graduate from high school, assisting more students in completing the FAFSA, and guiding more graduates to enter college immediately.

Our aim is to enhance our success and expand upon it as revealed by our shared metrics, including greater success for MPS graduates at Milwaukee Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

The five key goals of M³ remain, and our three institutions stand both committed and uniquely positioned to help young people thrive and to develop a prepared citizenry and workforce. We have a strong foundation of past results and we are renewing our efforts to drive this important work for the students, employers, and community we serve. To continue our progress, we are creating new work teams centered on three key functional areas.

  • Curriculum and Educational Development for Academic Success
  • Postsecondary Transition for Academic Success
  • Postsecondary Support for Academic Success

These teams will work to ensure alignment in what students learn and need to know across middle school, high school, and college; will help students successfully transition to college; and will help students succeed in college. Teams are now identifying key action steps.

As Milwaukee’s three large urban institutions of education, our successes are interconnected as we strive to serve the students who represent the future of the community we share. We thank you for your continued partnership and investment.

Respectfully,

Keith P. Posley, Ed.D., Superintendent, MPS

Vicki Martin, Ph.D., President, MATC

Mark A. Mone, Ph.D., Chancellor, UWM
