Achieving equity through philanthropy
One of the common barriers to higher education identified by students is a lack of technology such as a laptop or Chromebook. Seeing this as a problem with simple solutions, M3 fund development teams are in the early stages of building a new philanthropic investment opportunity. This initiative would help students further their education beyond high school by allowing access to technology.
The team has identified that a $500,000 shared investment could provide 1,000 MPS juniors, seniors, and qualifying MATC and UWM students with the technology they need to pursue postsecondary education.
While the team works to build this initiative, student needs have risen sharply due to the pandemic. Job losses, unexpected expenses, and new technology needs have placed added stress on our student populations.
