Black Feminist Symposium 2025: Reclaiming Self-Worth and Excellence

February 28 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

""

The Black Feminist Symposium is a dynamic, conference-style event designed to celebrate, explore, and elevate the voices and experiences of Black women through a variety of engaging keynote addresses, workshops, panels, and presentations. Drawing inspiration from scholars, activists, and thought leaders, the symposium will engage in critical conversations about the intersections of race, gender, class, and sexuality, and how Black feminist frameworks can shape liberation, resistance, and solidarity.

We invite you to submit your work to the Black Feminist Symposium, Feb 28th 2025. The theme this year is “Ain’t I A Woman: Reclaiming Self-Worth and Excellence.” Proposals can be individual papers, posters, panels, and creative works that address one or more of the conference themes. We also request an abstract (250 words) to be included in your submission. Submissions are being accepted until Feb 7th, 2025 and may come from UWM students, faculty, community members and/or creatives.

Please contact the UWM Women’s Resource Center for more information.

Partners: Black Student Cultural Center, UWM Libraries, Women’s and Gender Studies, Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, Honors College, African and African Diaspora Studies, and Sociocultural Programming
