UWM Libraries Provide Streamlined Access to Full Text Scholarly Articles

The UWM Libraries have invested in a new series of tools to support teaching, learning, and research in an online environment where faculty, staff, and students are increasingly working and learning off-campus. Third Iron’s LibKey Suite and BrowZine tools will simplify and accelerate access to full-text content.

The LibKey Suite is composed of

  1. LibKey Discovery, provides direct-to-PDF links in Search@UW
  2. LibKey Link, works behind the scenes of the Get It! graphic button in library databases and Google Scholar to improve full-text linking
  3. LibKey Nomad, a browser extension for off-campus use that automatically provides UWM links to full-text articles from publisher websites, PubMed, Wikipedia, and more
  4. LibKey.io, a known-item lookup similar to Sci-Hub (but legal!)

BrowZine provides a user-friendly browsing experience of licensed and open access scholarly journals across web and mobile devices. While browsing the UWM Libraries e-journal holdings, users can follow the integrated links to get article PDFs in a snap.

BrowZineLibKey Nomad, and LibKey.io have been added to the Databases A-Z list.

For more information please contact your subject librarian or Lynne Jones,LibKey administrator.

Stay tuned for an invitation to the November 12, 2021 workshop about this suite of enhancements within the “Fall into Research” series.
