The UWM Libraries have invested in a new series of tools to support teaching, learning, and research in an online environment where faculty, staff, and students are increasingly working and learning off-campus. Third Iron’s LibKey Suite and BrowZine tools will simplify and accelerate access to full-text content.
The LibKey Suite is composed of
- LibKey Discovery, provides direct-to-PDF links in Search@UW
- LibKey Link, works behind the scenes of the button in library databases and Google Scholar to improve full-text linking
- LibKey Nomad, a browser extension for off-campus use that automatically provides UWM links to full-text articles from publisher websites, PubMed, Wikipedia, and more
- LibKey.io, a known-item lookup similar to Sci-Hub (but legal!)
BrowZine provides a user-friendly browsing experience of licensed and open access scholarly journals across web and mobile devices. While browsing the UWM Libraries e-journal holdings, users can follow the integrated links to get article PDFs in a snap.
Stay tuned for an invitation to the November 12, 2021 workshop about this suite of enhancements within the “Fall into Research” series.
