Beginning July 1, the UWM Libraries are no longer charging overdue fines for general materials (books, DVDs, CDs, etc.). The Libraries are making this change primarily to lessen financial hardships for students and to support their success at UWM.
Patrons will continue to receive a courtesy notice prior to the return date and overdue notices will be issued at the same intervals (one day, 21 days and 28 days) prior to an item being identified as lost.
Lost fees remain, as do overdue fines on recalled materials, Reserve materials, and equipment (laptops, calculators, audio recorders, video cameras, etc.).
