Starting July 15, UWM’s PantherList email list service will get an update that affects both how current lists appear in your inbox and how new PantherLists are created. The key change: PantherLists will now have an address with @lists.uwm.edu. This update is necessary to improve message deliverability and security for PantherLists.
Existing PantherLists
All existing PantherLists will automatically update to use the @lists.uwm.edu email format; no action is needed. When you receive an email message from an existing PantherList, it will have the prefix “lists” before the uwm.edu address. This change won’t affect how existing PantherLists are used, only the name will appear different.
For example, a message sent to an existing PantherList called example-name@uwm.edu will still be delivered to the intended recipients. They will see example-name@lists.uwm.edu when they receive it in their inbox.
New PantherLists
Starting July 15, when you create a new PantherList, it will automatically include the @lists.uwm.edu email format. It is crucial that you share the full list name with anyone who will send email to the PantherList. Messages must include @lists.uwm.edu to be delivered.
Microsoft 365 Groups
This service change doesn’t affect lists created or used with Microsoft 365 Groups.
