For the Fiscal Year 2026 Pay Plan Increment.
- The base salary listed in my letter does not match my current rate of pay. Is my pay incorrect?
- At the start of the Academic Year, it’s not uncommon for there to be multiple pay adjustments to an employee’s base pay (e.g., promotions, change in jobs, etc.). You are encouraged to review your pay statement on September 4, 2025, to verify your final salary is correct. Your pay statement (Payslip) can found in Workday under your profile in the Pay section. You can also view your compensation history and adjustments under the Compensation section in your profile. You may also reach out to your HR Business Partner to confirm your Academic Year salary and respective adjustments.
- How is pay plan eligibility determined for new hires, promotions or transfer employees?
- If an employee is in active pay status on the implementation date, they should receive the Fiscal Year 2026 pay plan increment if in a pay plan eligible position and other eligibility criteria are met.
- For eligible 12-month and hourly employees, the Pay Plan adjustment will be implemented on August 10, 2025. Payment will be realized on the September 4, 2025 paycheck, along with a one-time payment covering the increase from June 29 to August 9.
- For eligible 9-month (academic year) employees, the Pay Plan adjustment will be implemented on August 25, 2025.
- I have a temporary work allowance (formerly temporary base adjustment) and my pay plan amount seems incorrect. Why is it different?
- Pay Plan adjustments are calculated only on your base salary amount. You are encouraged to review your pay statement on September 4, 2025, to verify your final salary is correct. You may also reach out to your HR Business Partner to confirm your Academic Year salary and respective adjustments.
- Example of Pay Plan Calculation with a TWA: Employee A’s salary is $50,000 on June 29, 2025. Employee A also has a $1000 TWA that they are being paid. On an August 10, 2025 implementation date, the pay plan of 3% will be calculated using $50,000 (50,000 x 3% = $1500). Employee A’s new Full Time Compensation Rate will be $50,000 + $1500 = $51,500.
- I am a 12 month employee and began employment at UWM after August 10, 2025. Why didn’t I receive notice of a pay plan increase?
- Eligibility criteria per the UWM Pay Plan and Implementation Guidelines required employees to have an active appointment at UWM on August 10, 2025 to be eligible for the Fiscal Year 2026 pay plan increase. If you were employed after August 10, 2025, you are not eligible for the current pay plan adjustment.
- If I did not receive a Pay Plan notice, does that mean I am ineligible to receive pay plan?
- Please review the eligibility criteria listed in the UWM Pay Plan Policy to determine your eligibility. If you are an employee who was deemed ineligible due to performance, mandatory training, or mandatory reporting, the Department of Human Resources will issue a notice of ineligibility.
- I am in a grant-funded position. Will I still be eligible for the pay plan?
- The pay plan applies to all employees eligible for pay plan, regardless of funding source.
- Can I appeal my pay plan eligibility?
- No. Units have the ability to address compensation utilizing other compensation adjustment methods. Please consult with your respective supervisor.
- I have a question that has not been addressed in the Pay Plan Policy, Implementation Guidelines, or the FAQ, who should I contact?
- Contact your assigned HR Business Partner.
