Save Me film screening and mental health discussion

Save Me is an hour-long film that features a young Hmong woman who loses her mother and falls into depression until she meets a mysterious person who teaches her to find acceptance. The film reveals the challenges of living bicultural lives and how traditional health and healing customs conflict with Western practices, especially in times of crisis. Save Me was locally produced by Nyob Zoo Milwaukee TV. It is based on a stage play written by Mai Zoua Vang, a UW-Milwaukee alumna, that was originally performed by UW-Milwaukee’s Hmong Student Association members and Hmong American Peace Academy students.
