Interests & Expertise

For the past 15-years, Erin LeSage has been a speech-language pathologist servicing the pediatric population including premature infants through school-age children with a variety of communication and/ or feeding/swallowing disorders with complex medical backgrounds.

LeSage has been able to work with the pediatric population across a variety of settings including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), outpatient clinics and in home as well as daycare environments. During this time, she has also had the opportunity to educate, supervise and mentor future speech-language pathologists.

LeSage has a true passion for working with children and their families. She has made it her mission during her career to educate other professionals regarding feeding/swallowing disorders in children to help facilitate long-term oral feeding success. Extensive training and certification in this area has allowed her to be a resource for others as she has been able to present at local and state levels on the topic of pediatric feeding/swallowing disorders.

Her goal as a clinical instructor at UWM is to integrate her clinical experience with theory in the classroom to optimize the learning experience for each student.
