Title:
Navigating the Non-Linear Path from Academia to professional in the geosciences

Abstract:
The transition from student to professional rarely follows a predictable, linear trajectory. Instead, it is often defined by unforeseen pivots and nuanced decisions that challenge our initial career expectations. This presentation explores my personal evolution from academic foundations to my current role as a geophysicist within the geotechnical sector.
By examining the specific projects and strategic choices that shaped my journey, I will highlight the complexities of the student-to-professional transition. While every career path is unique, this narrative serves as a case study for a non-traditional trajectory within the geosciences. Ultimately, this session aims to provide a broader perspective on professional development and inspire confidence in the diverse opportunities available beyond the academic environment.
