Rhetoric and Professional Writing
The undergraduate program in Rhetoric and Professional Writing at UWM provides students a broad background in rhetoric, writing, and technical communication. Our program prepares students to gain a range of writing skills for the 21st century. Students are exposed to civic writing, community research, rhetorical analysis, multimodal composition, and project management. We also offer an internship course where students are engaged in experiential learning and apply their writing and rhetoric skills to a range of careers including non-profit management, grant writing, editing and publishing, and user experience. These experiences prepare students to succeed in a variety of careers that rely on effective communication skills.
