The environmental humanities; eco-criticism; oceanic studies; new materialism. Critical race and postcolonial theory: the intersection of race, the climate crisis, and issues of transatlantic climate disruption. Nineteenth-century literary and cultural studies: issues of global colonialism, trade, capitalism, the industrial revolution, and consumerism.
