The Summary of Coursework form offers guidance to master’s students in the selection of courses to take to fulfill the credit distribution requirements of their plan. Students must begin to fill out a Summary of Coursework form after completing six or nine credits; the form may be revised as students take additional courses in the program.

The Summary of Coursework form is also a final departmental check to ensure that students have met the credit distribution requirements necessary for the master’s degree. Students must have a completed Summary of Coursework form, approved by the student’s advisor, plan coordinator and the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies, before scheduling their master’s exam. The approved form is placed in the student’s file. Summary of Coursework forms for each plan are available on the Graduate Student Handbook’s online forms page.
