A research and policy center with a focus on sustainable and equitable economic systems.

About Us

The Center for Research on International Economics (CRIE) is a research and policy center for transforming the debate about how best to achieve a sustainable and equitable economic system. It is a resource center for the university and members of the public who wish to broaden their understanding of economic issues and problems in the U.S. as well as other countries.

CRIE endeavors to inform people about economic issues that are important to the local, national and international community. Through working papers and the sponsorship of speakers and conferences, CRIE engages in extending our knowledge and understanding of economic problems worldwide. With a strong international academic focus here at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, including the recently added B.A. program in Global Studies, CRIE also provides applied research opportunities for students interested in global economic issues.
