Students in the School of Biomedical Sciences & Health Care Administration have excellent opportunities for involvement and leadership in our student organizations. The connections you’ll make to fellow students, faculty, and professionals are invaluable to your experience. Leadership, learning, networking, and service to the community…it’s all here!

Biomedical Sciences Student Association (BMS-SA)

Provides educational, vocational and social support for UWM Biomedical Sciences students at all levels. Promotes general public awareness of the roles and contributions of the clinical laboratory scientist. The assimilation of scientific knowledge and its subsequent application toward solving today’s health problems is a primary function of the biomedical scientist and consequently the collective goal of club members.

Future Healthcare Executives (FHE)

FHE is the student organization for Health Care Administration (HCA) students. FHE offers students an opportunity to meet the leaders in the field, attend symposiums sponsored by the ACHE – Wisconsin chapter, and attend national conventions. Students also develop leadership and management skills by networking with executives from the Milwaukee area and beyond.

Membership in FHE is open to all UWM students, both undergraduate and graduate, who have an interest in health care administration, regardless of major.

The HCA program is an associate member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Full membership in AUPHA represents programmatic accreditation for undergraduate health administration programs.
