Welcome to the School of Biomedical Sciences and Health Care Administration (BMSHCA)! We reside within the College of Health Professions & Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s main campus.

The School of BMSHCA is a vibrant, interprofessional learning environment for students. We train, in accredited programs, future health professionals who work directly with patients (radiography, sonography), perform clinical laboratory testing (medical laboratory science), and who work in leadership roles held by managers in hospitals, nursing homes, insurance companies and medical offices. We also offer more broad degrees for students who are interested in biomedical research and degree completion in related health fields.

We are known for our high quality of education, and our graduates are highly sought after – with many securing fellowships and jobs before graduation. This is fueled by our focus on experiential learning, through clinical placements, internships, and capstone projects with community partners.

Within the Milwaukee urban environment, the school of BMSHCA partners with many of the leading health care organizations in the regional Milwaukee area and beyond. Thus, as a student within the school of BMSHCA, you will have ample opportunities to obtain direct experience working in health care settings with diverse patient and client populations.

In addition to this, we also offer MS and PhD programs in which our graduate students participate in innovative, cutting-edge research at UWM, an R1 institution. We highly encourage our undergraduate students to participate in research, as well.

As a student, you will find an outstanding educational experience in the School of BMSHCA that will enhance your career opportunities in the ever-growing field of health care. Join us in making the world a healthier place!
