What are the program requirements?
- Mentors are required to have an account on the Panthers Connect platform.
- Mentors should be graduates of UWM.
What is the time commitment?
- A minimum of 60 minutes per month is required, scheduled at your convenience. More frequent communication is encouraged.
Note: The Panthers Connect platform makes it easy to stay in touch with your mentee, offering built-in texting and video chat features.
What is the duration of the program?
- One session is offered each semester:
- Fall: October to December
- Spring: February to March
- Participation is flexible, allowing you to join or leave as needed.
How are mentors and mentees matched?
- Complete an application on the Panthers Connect platform, answering all questions thoroughly to help the matching algorithm pair you with the right student.
- Mentees can “favorite” mentors they’d like to work with based on profile information, so be sure to keep your profile updated.
Are there assignments for this program?
- As a mentor, you will be able to assign goals to your mentee to guide their development.
