Matt Shoemaker

Matt Shoemaker recently published the book Gathering of Gamers: Dungeons & Dragons and Other Games Through Gen Con via Play Story Press.  This book combines traditional historical research with digital humanities methods to examine a tale of Wisconsin’s geeky history.  The book looks at the history of modern tabletop gaming through the game convention Gen Con, which was located in Wisconsin from 1968 – 2002.  If you love tabletop games, game conventions, or just want to know what Wisconsin’s role was in the rise of D&D you can check the book out here.
