Jill Lintonen

Jill Lintonen received the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Awardee from the UWM Alumni Association. The award was presented during the Alumni Awards Evening on February 21, 2025, at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

Jill joined the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services as communications director in February 2020 at the onset of the COVID pandemic and was integral to implementing Milwaukee County’s comprehensive response. She was also a key member of the team that led the campaign to build the new Marcia P. Coggs Health and Human Services Center, a $32 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) project. Over more than 25 years as a communications leader, Jill has shaped key messages and guided brand strategy for many organizations in the Milwaukee area. She served as marketing and public relations manager for Employ Milwaukee and as director of communications for the American Heart Association of Milwaukee, where she launched CPR Saturday and Go Red for Women. She also led her own business as a communications consultant, where she helped organizations in the for-profit, nonprofit and government sectors build brand awareness, strengthen constituent outreach and meet community needs.
