William Thien

William Thien, a graduate of The Lubar EMBA Program (2016) and a 1980 graduate of The College of Letters and Science (BA English) has recently published his first non-fiction work titled Notes from The Silent Majority: AKA, Socialism was supposed to fix all of this!
Author of one novel, The Dream Chip, 2001, and Collected Poems of William Thien, 2025, his latest work, “Notes,” one of non-fiction, focuses on the damage to The United States caused by socialism, false narratives, as well as excessive government regulation of the individual when compared to the corporation or corporate citizen. Thien considers conversations he has had with co-workers and others about their social and economic condition and often includes his own perspectives. The essays and observations enclosed in “Notes” originated from Thien’s blogs on WordPress and elsewhere.
