Interests & Expertise

Hayley Ericksen’s research interest surrounds prevention of lower extremity injury, specifically anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Her research focuses on investigating movement characteristics which may predispose someone to ACL injury and implementing intervention programs to change landing biomechanics and reduce ACL injury risk. She seeks to implement intervention programs which can produce lasting changes in lower extremity biomechanics in a physically active population. Currently, Ericksen is focusing on intervention programs which include verbal and visual feedback to change potentially harmful jump-landing mechanics in an attempt to reduce ACL injury risk.
