Aamir oversees the operations of the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW) with services in Medical, Counseling, Health Promotion and Advocacy, and University Recreation. As the Campus Health Officer, he provides consultancy and assistance in any health-related issues facing UWM. During the COVID pandemic, he provided leadership in managing strategies to keep the campus safe and open.

A seasoned practitioner, Aamir possesses over 30 years of clinical experience and has a unique patient-focused, academic approach to care. With his distinctive perspective, he is able to strategically lead the SHAW Center to provide and enhance much-needed services for UWM Students.

Throughout his career, Aamir has held many leadership positions and has developed exceptional skills that allow him to bring his expertise to SHAW and the Student Affairs Leadership Team.

Aamir completed his Medical Doctorate from Aga Khan University in Pakistan and Medical Residency at the Aurora Family Medicine Residency Program in Milwaukee, WI. After completing his residency, he joined Aurora Health Care and was part of the administrative team. Some of his past positions include President of Medical Staff, Medical Director and Associate Director of Family Medicine Residency and as an academician, associate professor of family medicine.

He is an avid technology enthusiast and spends free time working on many of his tech projects.
