Laura grew up in suburban Chicago. She attended Drake University in Des Moines, IA for her undergraduate degree in psychology. She obtained her master’s degree in counseling psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Laura has worked in a variety of settings, including residential care, foster care, inpatient and outpatient mental health care and private practice prior to joining the university counseling center at UWM. She works from a person centered, cognitive behavioral perspective incorporating a social justice lens. Current clinical interests include depression, anxiety, trauma/sexual violence and identity exploration. Outside of work, Laura enjoys photography, knitting, spending time with family, friends and pets.
