Doris Johnson Browne, PhD, LPC

Doris Johnson Browne was born in South Carolina. Due to her parent’s enlistment in the Air Force, she resided in various states as well as abroad over the span of 20 years. After earning a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina, she went on to earn a M.S. and a Ph.D. with an emphasis in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Doris also completed a clinical internship at The Ohio State University College of Medicine-Division of Clinical Psychology. Her initial employment at UWM was as an academic advisor and personal counselor for the Academic Opportunity Center. Doris has also worked at the Norris Health Center for over 35 years. Her areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety, sexual violence, diversity, and multicultural concerns. Doris appreciates the opportunity to work with the diverse student population at UWM that she describes as highly motivated. When Doris is not working, she enjoys volunteering her services to various non-profit organizations in the community.
