Professor Wang in the Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Lab

In the UW-Milwaukee Aging and Stroke Rehabilitation Laboratory, our focus is on conducting research in the areas of aging and stroke rehabilitation.

We investigate aging trends, biomarkers, and risk factors, employing big data analysis from publicly available datasets and electronic medical databases to establish norms (reference values) across the lifespan. Our research extends to the examination of biomarkers of aging and develops a frailty index using machine learning approaches.

Furthermore, we engage in collaborations with engineers to evaluate the user experience and efficacy of upper limb robotic-assisted therapy for individuals with neurological disorders. The overarching objective is to design advanced robotic devices for effective clinical neurorehabilitation and explore cost-effective options for home-based robot-assisted telerehabilitation.
