Dissertation Bootcamp 2022 | Wednesday, January 12 – Friday, January 14 The next Dissertation Boot Camp will be held January 12th, 13th, and 14th, 2022 online via Teams, and will once again be free of charge.  The registration deadline is January 4th, 2022. Joining Boot Camp is a great way to make progress on your dissertation and build momentum for the semester. Research Specialist | UW-Madison | Madison, WI The Research Specialist supports the health experiences research portfolio led by Dr. Rachel Grob of the Center for Patient Partnerships and Health Experiences Research Network within the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. This research is designed to elicit diverse experiences people are having with health and health care; to synthesize what we can learn from these narratives; and to make health and health care better by implementing what is learned from these studies.

Asthma Care Program Grants Specialist | UW-Madison | Madison, WI The grants specialist is responsible for coordinating the Asthma Care Program’s grant and contract management, project management, and fiscal monitoring. Overall responsibilities of the position include: drafting and administering grants and scopes of work with local organizations to provide services for the program; developing and monitoring budgets; monitoring progress and reporting by grantees, including maintaining ongoing communication with grantees on timelines, deadlines, and status throughout grant period; preparing status reports and updates as requested by the Asthma Care Program Manager and the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; coordinating fiscal processing of invoices; and assisting with identifying new grantees and partners for the program.

Wisconsin Asthma Care Program Manager | UW-Madison | Madison, WI
Under the general supervision of the Environmental Epidemiology and Surveillance Section Chief, this position serves as program manager for the new Asthma Health Services Initiative’s (HSI) Asthma Care Program to address asthma and its housing-related environmental contributors on vulnerable low-income children and pregnant women in Medicaid through asthma case management, in-home education, environmental assessment, provision of durables, and acute environmental hazard remediation.

This position will be reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor – EHS, and serving as a member of the Environment, Health & Safety Leadership Team, this position will lead the development and implementation of the campus environment and occupational health program and strategy.

Sport Fish Consumption Research Program Epidemiologist | UW-Madison | Madison, WI
The incumbent serves as the epidemiologist for an EPA-funded project in the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern to reduce harmful exposures to mercury and other persistent environmental pollutants among Asian women of childbearing age (WCBA) from sportfish consumption. The project includes recruitment of Asian WCBA from four ethnicities (Hmong, Burmese, Chinese, and Filipino), focus group sessions, a detailed survey, and a behavioral intervention. Effective and culturally appropriate outreach and educational materials for these vulnerable groups will be developed.
