The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Division Manager in our Communicable Disease Division due to a retirement! The Communicable Disease Division focuses on preventing and controlling communicable disease and preparing for and responding to outbreaks and public health emergencies in Eau Claire County. The division works closely with healthcare and community partners in all programs which includes surveillance and epidemiological follow up of all reportable communicable diseases, emergency preparedness, and immunization. UW-Madison —  Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Epidemiologist
The incumbent provides epidemiologic leadership within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) grant-funded Wisconsin Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) program to develop tools to increase the accessibility and availability of data on health outcomes and related environmental hazards and exposures. Responsibilities include: using SAS to compile, prepare, and submit complex datasets and accompanying metadata to CDC semi-annually; developing XML schema and performing validation procedures to ensure that submitted data are accurately represented on national and state portals; developing and implementing specifications for new data topics on the Wisconsin EPHT public data portal through collaboration with intra-agency and external partners; maintaining schedule of data submissions and data updates to coordinate data releases to the portal; regularly compiling list of portal-specific feedback for external contractors; and maintaining an active presence and providing leadership on national EPHT workgroups (e.g., Content Workgroup and Standards and Network Development, etc.) as relevant to the needs of the program.

United Migrant Opportunity Services —  Bilingual Prevention Specialist
Under the direction of the Health Promotion Manager, the Prevention Specialist will provide services in HIV and Tobacco Prevention, including providing HIV counseling, testing, education and other supportive services to individuals at high risk for HIV. To promote healthy practices specifically to the Injection Drug User (IDU) population through outreach, engagement, and education. The Prevention Specialist will also engage in Tobacco Prevention activities, education and outreach services to individuals within the Hispanic community; to promote healthy ways to quit the use of tobacco products through education and supportive services.
