Jesús Ulises Velarde-Moctezuma

I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to join Phi Betta Kappa at UWM. My sincere gratitude goes out to all the instructors who have contributed positively to my success as a student and as a person. I am particularly grateful to Professor Katie Vater and Dr. Anjana Mudambi, who have always been fantastic teachers and constantly allowed me to grow academically. These two professors have shown a genuine interest in students and are eager to assist them whenever they require it.

My experiences with both instructors and the resources available on campus, in general, have helped me grow in two areas: knowledge and life in general. My ambition is to earn a BA in Communications with a minor in Spanish. I believe that UWM has equipped me with the skills to be an effective communicator in both English and Spanish, which I can apply in my daily life. Through my membership in Phi Beta Kappa, I hope to advance as a person and gain more insight. I am eager to see what the University of Wisconsin has left to offer me as a student and what I can learn about my personal and professional life.
