Nadia Tabit

  • December 2020 graduate, History

My name is Nadia Tabit and I recently graduated from UWM with a BA in History in December 2020. Being a student at UWM was a remarkably transformative experience that encouraged me to challenge myself and hone my passions.

I had the privilege of learning from the incredible History faculty and staff who have shaped my understanding of the world, both past and present, during a time of unprecedented challenges and changes. I would especially like to thank Dr. Rebecca Shumway who encouraged me to join Phi Beta Kappa. During our senior-level capstone course, she supported us in designing and writing an original research paper that investigated a historical topic in the Atlantic World and Africa. I am grateful for her and my classmates who encouraged meaningful analyses of focused arguments and built a safe, supportive, virtual learning environment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

UWM is a place I am immensely grateful to have called home. It is an honor to be inducted to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
