Haley Lucille Krueger

I am deeply honored to be joining Phi Beta Kappa. I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and I am majoring in Journalism, Advertising & Media Studies with a focus in both journalism and advertising. Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved reading and storytelling. For a long time, I wasn't sure what I wanted to be, but I knew I wanted to write.

Looking back on my time at UWM, I am extremely thankful to the people who helped me grow. Kevin Brandt, a fantastic professor I had, helped me get an internship at Hoffman York, where I spent the summer working as a copywriter intern. Jane Hampden Daley introduced me to audio, and without her, I would not have won my Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism award. I also had the amazing opportunity of spending my Spring 2023 semester studying abroad in Australia. I had the chance to see some of the most incredible places in the world, including the Great Barrier Reef! I am also very proud of my personal growth at UWM. I have learned the importance of seeking out assistance from others when I need it and also how to vouch for myself and fight for the opportunities I want. I hope to carry these skills throughout the rest of my life.
