Aleyna Irem Karacan

  • Senior, Anthropology and Business double major

I am honored to be a part of Phi Beta Kappa, and I am so excited to be graduating at the end of this semester!

Throughout my time at UWM, I was lucky enough to work closely with the Honors College faculty, especially with Dr. Jacqueline Stuhmiller, who provided me with constant support and helped me step out of my comfort zone. I served as the president of HARPY (Honors Association for Research and Publication) and organized and participated in annual conferences that supported research in the humanities and social sciences.

One of my most significant achievements at UWM was working on individual projects with Dr. Paul Brodwin, which taught me invaluable skills for carrying out research, and fieldwork and prepared me for my future academic career. As I look towards the future, I am eager to pursue a Ph.D. in Anthropology and continue my education in the cultural anthropology track. I am grateful for the knowledge and experiences I have gained at UWM!
