Zoë Lauren Brown

  • Senior, English major

I am incredibly honored to be a part of Phi Beta Kappa. I am in my third year at UWM and will graduate next fall with a Bachelor of Arts in English, focusing on Literature and Cultural Theory, as well as an Honors College degree. Before beginning my studies at UW - Milwaukee, I had the privilege of participating in the UR@UWM summer research program for incoming freshmen, allowing me to create meaningful connections before entering college. I am currently working on my Honors senior thesis under the advising of Benjamin Schneider, a challenging and enriching end to my time at UWM. Through the English department internship program, I have also been able to work with middle grade author Lorelei Savaryn, which has been an incredible first glance into the publishing industry.

In the future, I plan to continue my studies in English, hopefully earning a Master's degree abroad. I have several career aspirations, including working as a writer, editor, and professor. I would like to thank my professors and peers at UWM for supporting me in my academic growth, and I would also like to thank my friends and family for always believing in me. I am so grateful to be joining Phi Beta Kappa and look forward to seeing what the future brings.
