Alia Samreen Ahmed

I am truly grateful and honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of Phi Beta Kappa. Currently, my intended major is Biomedical Sciences with a sub major in Medical Laboratory Science on the pre-med track. Although this past year has been unpredictable for all, it has proven to be a learning experience and has opened my eyes to new avenues that I can pursue. I particularly have enjoyed being a volunteer of the Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research’s Virtual Tutoring program. I have been able to see that especially during this pandemic young children are the ones whose education has been impacted the most which is why tutoring is so crucial during this time. Along with continuing this I am looking forward to being a part of a summer research internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin where I hope to explore clinical aspects of research. It is my goal and desire that my education and opportunities from UWM will enable me to further my education and one day serve humanity as a physician.
