In this course we would break the ethnoracial taboo and talk about how race and ethnicity go beyond just biology and culture – we will see them as categories that have different meaning throughout history, geography, and society types. Be advised, however, that those categories, once constructed, have real-life consequences on all levels of society. We are going to look at those during this course using the ways we can theorize ethnoracial discrimination and white supremacy. We would look at the topics of race and ethnicity from ever-changing angles, but the inquisitiveness, critical thinking, civic discourse, and self-reflection would stay as our loyal companions in our educational journey.
