This course provides an introduction to Educational Psychology, focusing on research on learning and development in children and adolescents and its application in the field–in classroom, educational, or community contexts wherein the promotion of healthy development and learning is a focus. Students must have at least sophomore standing to enroll in this course. It is recommended that students are concurrently engaged in some kind of practicum or field experience OR have experience with children and/or adolescents in order to make observations and apply classroom theories to real-life contexts. This is not a course requirement, but will help extend course material to practice.
