Macroeconomics is a branch of economic science that studies performance, structure, behavior, and decision-making of an economy as a whole. It focuses on the aggregate changes in the variables such as unemployment, gross domestic product, level of prices, interest rates, money supply, inflation, savings and investments.  The purpose of Economics 104 is to provide the basic facts about both US and world economies and to introduce the basic frameworks and macroeconomic theories that can be used to analyze the benefits and costs of relevant government policies like fiscal, monetary or supply-side expansions.
